ABOUT US
The story of Warnez
Maybe Warnez is new to you, or perhaps you’ve been a customer for years. Since 1950, Warnez has been a trusted name in the potato industry. Today, we’re a high-tech potato packing company. In 2024, the third generation of the Warnez family took the helm, keeping the family’s love for potatoes very much alive.
And honestly, who could blame us? There’s more to a potato than meets the eye. We offer a wide range of products: from everyday classics (hello, Nicola!) to speciality varieties in all kinds of packaging. Need a 15-kilo box of potatoes for fries? We’ve got it! You’ll find our potatoes in supermarkets across the country, as we primarily supply the retail and food service sectors.
Over the years, we’ve built strong, lasting partnerships with our growers and customers. Quality and innovation are the cornerstones of everything we do. Thanks to our fully automated production flow, we can offer a wide variety of potato types and packaging options—flexible, efficient, and always top quality.
And it’s not just at home that people love potatoes. In 2021, we launched our export division to strengthen our position as a leading player in the potato industry. Another exciting milestone is Pomfresh: our brand of pre-cooked potatoes and frozen fries. Easy to use, long-lasting, and loved by both retailers and foodservice professionals. And the taste? Naturally delicious!
Our story

Firmin Warnez and Paula Bekaert establish a potato wholesale business in the Bedevaartstraat in Tielt, focusing mainly on the export of unwashed potatoes.

Warnez starts washing and pre-packing potatoes, partly from its own harvest, partly from external growers.

Warnez opens a new facility in the Tielt-South industrial zone. The original location becomes an AVEVE garden centre.
The company now has two branches: Warnez NV, the commercial arm, and Agripom BVBA, which handles production and cultivation.

Warnez joins a potato cooperative and begins a thorough selection of growers and cultivation regions.

A second packing station is established, along with a spin-off for premium packaging (Pomtaste and Pomvit).

The third generation steps in: Philippe and Charlotte join the company.
What about the future?
We’re looking to the future of potatoes with an innovative mindset. Sustainability, quality and technological progress are at the heart of our vision. More efficient production methods, innovative packaging and sustainable farming practices are key to our continued growth, always with respect for nature and our local growers.
Of course, we’re also staying in tune with evolving consumer trends. The demand for healthier, more convenient, tasty and eco-friendly products is only increasing. That’s how we’re building a future where the potato isn’t just a nutritious and versatile ingredient, but a symbol of how sustainable farming and responsible consumption can go hand in hand.
